A brilliantly easy to use email marketing tool that's particularly good for agencies.
Overall Satisfaction with Campaign Monitor by Marigold
I run an email marketing agency and use Campaign Monitor for client campaigns. It offers an easy way to create campaigns and allow clients access also. Including historic clients we don't work with anymore, we have around 40-50 sub accounts. The agency version of the product suits this well and the user interface has developed to be very nice to use.
Pros
- Deliverability generally seems very good
- User interface is excellent and one of the main reasons I use it for clients who haven't used email marketing much before. Compared with MailChimp, for example, it's much easier to use.
- Straightforward and easy to use email builder
- Good reporting
Cons
- I'd prefer a central contact list with tags, rather than multiple lists. I can have one person on 5 lists and that counts as 5 subscribers.
- While the email builder is very good, I'd prefer more customisation options.
- Updates they make are good, but are perhaps a little slow.
- I'd like better mobile compatibility. I get that might not be possible for the email builder (although aiming for that would be great) but for lists, reports etc there's no reason that shouldn't be mobile-compatible or have a mobile app.
- A big chunk of my business is built through it, so it's definitely had significant positive impact on revenue
- Ease of use means I'm not spending huge amounts of time teaching clients how to use it.
UI and usability are much better than all of them. While others offer tags which is my preferred method of list management, they're severely lacking in usability.
