Overall Satisfaction with ConvertKit

We used ConvertKit primarily to build the audience of email lists interested around selling some of their products via Instagram or through Shopify. It helped us in building a loyal audience and convert them for services around logistics. With ConvertKit, we created landing pages, captured email ids and then finally ran email campaigns and track the conversion funnel of businesses finally opting for logistics services.

Pros

  • Literally unlimited templates for designing the Email campaigns
  • Launching a landing page to capture leads (emails) quickly
  • Analytics to track almost everything including delivery rates gives the ability to optimise next/future campaigns accordingly
  • Newly launched journey or drip email campaigns is great as well

Cons

  • Segmentation of users is something I feel could be improved a bit based on custom parameters.
  • For us, it was quite positive considering the business contracts in logistics were for around a year and our conversions from leads to sales increased significantly over time and giving pretty good ROI
  • Later once we upgraded to integrations, it helped us even further in saving time of our team members and also optimising our campaigns effectively.
  • Although it's pretty hard to just calculate the impact of one tool but overall this channel has given us more than 12x impact in terms of cost to business ratio.
Similar things as I mentioned before, it does the job pretty well. We were looking for a tool to manage a lot of things from quickly building landing for capturing email and then nurturing them over time for conversions. Landing page builder of ConvertKit helped us in quickly setting up the page in around 30 mins. Analytics & Email delivery reports helped us improve our marketing efforts targetting right set of users on the landing page and later automations (drip campaigns) helped us optimise some of the campaign even further giving positive impact all together.
We just compared it with Mailchimp initially and later realised both the tools works well for email marketing campaigns, ConvertKit helped us managing lot of things with single tool rather than using 2 - 3 different tools. Pricing wise also it was almost coming around similar state so we chose to go ahead with ConvertKit instead of Mailchimp. While comparing some test campaigns, we saw better email delivery rates with ConvertKit.

Would you buy ConvertKit again?

Yes

Mailchimp Transactional Email (mandrill), Typeform
For us, it started with a smaller use case of captured leads, nurture them overtime to convert for services. Later we expanded our use case and started using integrations and automations to improve the conversions and automate some tasks as well. Based on that I totally feel someone who is creator and trying to diversify the income across building audience, community, paid Newsletter etc will suits the best. If you are just using it for email campaigns then it might not justify the price tag considering there are other cheaper alternatives that's available in the market.
