Overall Satisfaction with Mailchimp

We're an agency and regularly use Mailchimp for our client's newsletters. It's simple to use, has a great email builder, and is a powerful tool for most of what our clients need.

Pros

  • Great drag and drop email builder producing beautiful emails
  • Easy to use list management
  • Simple backend and management of team

Cons

  • Could be more robust in terms of automation at its basic levels
  • CRM is not as detailed as is sometimes needed for what we're doing
  • Generally positive; it provides a simple way to communicate
  • High open rates and list engagement
Haven't used onboarding specialists, but we regularly chat support and find it to be very helpful.
It helped us bubble up from simple newsletters to more complex marketing, and continue to build lists that are dynamic and reaching the right people.
Not as complex as some, but easy to use and cost effective for our clients.

I would recommend Mailchimp for anyone looking for a simple newsletter, or wanting to send regular communication to a relatively static or simply layered list. I would not recommend it if they are more robust eCommerce businesses or need super detailed automation and segmentation, at least beyond a smaller size of list.
