Overall Satisfaction with NetScaler

NetScaler allows us to leverage our Citrix environment via remote access. We were able to alleviate remote access to apps and files additionally allowing us to not have to use VPN access. Instead we are able to gain access via published Desktop and published applications via Citrix and Citrix Store.

Pros

  • managing multiple sites
  • OKTA integration

Cons

  • GUI upgraded
  • Navigation within the VA
  • Not so much function but support
  • People gaining access to resources w/out a heavy help desk interaction
  • Can access all resources wherever you have an internet connection
  • Doesn't require the user to be overly tech savy for access, install of workspace app
The install and configuration is cumbersome, if resources allow, id suggest hiring a third party vendor to help/configure on your behalf.

once installed and running, there is no real worry as the VA just works.
Installing updates is pretty simplistic and if you run into a problem, support (while sometimes hard to get someone live and quickly) seems to know what they're doing.
user access is much easier. Don't have to worry about the vpn client, the configuration, users having to know too much know how. NetScalers allow the simplistic approach to remote access.

KACE Asset Management Appliance, KACE Systems Deployment Appliance (SDA), PDQ Deploy & Inventory
Well suited: Citrix environments, remote access w/out adding another layer of VPN and configuration. Active Directory integrated. Allows for on prem or cloud installs.

Less appropriate: Companies that use VPN, Companies that don't have the manpower to support or the money to support the product and the employees.
