Overall Satisfaction with Slack

We use Slack as a communication channel between us. We use the workflow feature to automate many processes by integrating with Google Workspace, Jira, etc.,

Pros

  • Communication both Text and Voice with Video
  • Automation with Slack Workflow
  • whiteboard with Canvas

Cons

  • Sometimes I feel the application is slow especially during the screen share
  • We use the Slack workflow to automate the notification whenever some issue happens in the production environment. It helps us to identify the production issues faster and saves the cost.
  • As we are mostly doing remote working it helps us to collaborate easily, this saves time which indirectly contributes to the productive cost
In usability perspective, Slack is there as an app as well as website in mobile, PC etc., Moreover, clustering (arranging the channels as a section) is a nice functionality to keep the channels in a desired way to monitor.
That time, Google Chat was lacking with many functionalities like, canvas, survey, instant call from the same app etc.,

Instant messages with team collaboration and integrtion with some third party apps like GDrive, Google Calendar, Miro, etc., We use the Slack notifications most with the workflow, whenever some issue happens on the production environment with Slack webhooks we get notified immediately. It helps us to identify the production issues faster and saves the issue cost.
