Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform

I utilize the Veeam Data Platform to back up my cloud infrastructure, while Arcserve backs up my on-premises infrastructure. The business problems that Veeam Data Platform addresses allow me to easily back up and restore my cloud and virtual machine environment.

Pros

  • Back-up Jobs are done well.
  • The system self-inventories back up tapes well.
  • I am able to organize my offsite and onsite tape backups well.

Cons

  • Can make remediating issues within Veeam a lot easier.
  • If Tech support would communicate better.
  • If pricing for licensing were a bit more affordable.
  • Virtualized workloads
  • In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
  • Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux

Arcserve is a software I've wanted to replace. Therefore, I purchased a license for Veeam. I plan to learn how to back up my physical servers so that I can eliminate the need for Arcserve Backup software.
I have benefited from these capabilities, as I now have peace of mind knowing I can recover from the cloud.
We have not benefited from this. However, I would like to work with Veeam to achieve this.
I chose Veeam because it is trusted and has an easy-to-understand UI.

Veeam Data Platform is suitable for backing up virtual machines and cloud infrastructure. I wish Veeam were better suited to back up an on-premises environment.

Using Veeam Data Platform

It is a very simple software to manage.

I would attempt to configure Veeam Backup & Replication to backup my on-premises environment the same as I am backing up my cloud environment.
